  B: I am interested in working with your company because I know yours is one of the largest computer companies in our country (porvince, city). My major in the university is computer programming, so I wish to have the opportunity to apply my knowledge here.

  B: No, not only for high pay (remuneration), but also for a good working environment. As far as I know, working in a Sino-foreign joint venture calls for punctuality and responsibility. It is such a working environment that I am looking for.

  A: What foreign languages can you speak?

  B: I can only speak English as far as foreign languages are concerned.

  B: Yes, I think I'm quite proficient in both written and spoken English.

  A: One of the most important things for this job is English progiciency. Can you use English freely?

  B: Yes, I think so. I can communicate with foreigners easily. They say my English is quite good.

  B: Yes, I can. Although I come from Hunan Province, I've gained mastery of Cantonese since I've been living in Guangdong for ten years.

  B: I feel that I take the initiative to get things done.

  B: I'm quite outgoing, I think. I enjoy mixing and doing things with others.

  B: Well, I'm afraid I'm a poor talker, and that isn't very good, so I've been learning how to speak in public. I suppose a strong point is that I like developing new things and ideas.

  B: I maintain that the most important thing is having good friends. A person can't live all by himself, I think. It takes a lot of people working and cooperating together. A friend in need is a friend indeed. So the more really close friends I have, the better.

  B: Time and tide wait for no man. So we mustn't put off till tomorrow what can be done today. Putting things off just makes it worse later, so even if it's hard at the time, I try to get things done that day and not to let them go.

  B: Yes. Music and painting are my two great interests in life.

  B: On weekends I sometimes make an excursion to the suburbs with my family.

  B: I generally entertain myself in sports, reading, painting.

  B: I'm a football fan. But I don't play and just enjoy watching football matches.

  A: What kinds of books do you like?

  B: I enjoy reading biographies, especially those of well-known statesmen, militarists, scientists, and artists. I can learn a lot from their life histories.

  B: Lu Xun and Ba Jin are my favorite authors.
